What is a Public App?

A public app allows any person to download your app, signup and login for iOS + Android devices from the Apple app store and Google Play Store. What is a Private App?

A private app allows you to control who can login to the app by managing the users from your dashboard, upload a list, add users individually or manually approve users when they signup. Private apps enable instant onboarding and offboarding of residents, employees, tenants, members or any group of people you would like to keep private and secure.

What is a Chat/Channel?

A Chat or Channel is an individual room inside your app that enables a way to communicate and post information in real time. You can also add/remove chats and channels from your dashboard and the changes take effect inside your app live. Each chat/channel can be customized and used in numerous ways such as, group chat, announcements channels, video channels, training channels, employee communication, real time video stream, podcast show archives, and much more. Plus each chat/channel can be embedded into any webpage, accessed from direct links and have the 100's of Chatwing web features available under the hood.

Are there any overage fees?

Not directly - but Chatwing's pricing is designed to scale with the size of your app and business, so we do ask our customers to purchase a product that will fit their level of use. This means purchasing enough contacts to match your needs. We do recommend starting public apps with the "Basic" plan since it takes time to get more than 10,000 downloads. So while we don't charge "overage fees" as such, you should expect your downloads to grow over time. And you'll need to purchase enough contacts or downloads to match that growth as it occurs.

How do App Sales work with In App Purchase and In App Billing?

Your app can be setup to charge iOS iPhone/iPad and Android users to purchase subscriptions, membership and 1 time payments to access specific chat/channels and content. Customize the app to provide free trials, limit access to specific chat/channels create paywalls and much more. As with the entire chatwing platform we provide granular controls so you can sell to meet your business goals. Please note, Android(Google) and iOS(Apple) receive 30% of revenue generated from all app sales. Each month Chatwing sends you your earnings direct, it’s that simple to be in the app business.

What is a Contact?

A contact is a person that has access to login to your private app via iOS app, Android app or Website. As the App Admin, you’re able to add, update, or remove contacts from your contact database inside your dashboard at any time to meet your app goals and product limits.

Yes! We're confident you'll dig your own app so much so that only 1 month payment is required. Cancel anytime. No hidden fees. We mean it! Simply use the app wizard inside your dashboard to create, customize, build and make your 1st months payment.
